Wedding Dress Trends 2012

As most already know yesterday I went to the bridal expo at Oakfield Farm and these are the biggest trends I spotted during the fashion show with regards to wedding dresses. Once again this year we are seeing a 1920s influence coming through into wedding gowns with a bit a fringing and dropped waistlines. There also seems to be the thought "the bigger the better" with huge, tulle, full circle skirts. In the past years the tulle used to have a satin or chiffon over but this year designers are leaving the tulle to show through. A popular silhouette was the halter neck but in a contrast, usually translucent fabric and pleats at the neckline were also common. Wedding dress bottoms are also very soft, feminine and flowy- usually with a fishtail- with corsets being more structured. One of the biggest trends seen is a ruffled bottom with each layer being a different fabric. Last year we saw dresses that had removable bottoms to reveal a shorter dress and we saw that again this year. Accessories suprisingly included the traditional veil and upside down or slanted bows on everything.
