At many of the weddings I have attended lately it seems as if people have forgotten who is meant to sit where. Traditionally the closest family should sit nearest to the front of the ceremony area and for a Christian wedding the bride's family and friends sit on the left with the groom's family and friends on the right. Jewish wedding ceremonies are the opposite, therefore as bride and groom it is very important to decide where you want people to be seated and you need to inform your ushers. The bride's mother is always the last to be seated as this signals that the ceremony is about to begin. If you do not want people to forget at your wedding, you not create this beautiful reserved signs to get your message across?
